What’s the role?

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join News Corp Australia on a 12 month contract to lead a key workstream in a major transformation program that will revolutionise how we create content across our newsrooms.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large scale project focused on implementing new video, content, and asset and rights management capabilities, ultimately enabling a better experience for content creation teams, including journalists, video and social producers, and newsroom specialists.

This position is ideal for a proven leader with a strong track record of delivering digital and technology driven transformation initiatives, outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, and strong business acumen.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders to define strategic outcomes, goals, and success criteria, ensuring alignment across project planning, execution, and local and global leadership visibility.

  • Lead the delivery team to plan, structure, and manage project scope, required resources, work plans, budgets, and timelines for all initiatives.

  • Ensure delivery partners understand business drivers to stay within program constraints, while actively managing vendor contracts and agreements to ensure delivered services represent value for money.

  • Proactively identify, elevate, and mitigate project risks and issues, while formally assessing and approving any proposed changes to scope, schedule, or budget at the appropriate levels.

  • Effectively manage platform and financial resources to drive efficiency, maximise return on investment, and successfully achieve business outcomes.

  • Enable clear, ongoing visibility of project progress for both local and global senior stakeholders as well as the Portfolio Management Team.

Who are you?
  • You have extensive experience leading end-to-end business transformation projects and implementing digital transformation solutions within large organisations.
  • You bring a proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex projects while maintaining strict control over scope, scheduling, and budget.
  • You’re adept at engaging, inspiring, and influencing senior management, multidisciplinary teams, and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • You possess exceptional leadership skills in directly managing technical teams, including business analysts, engineers, developers, and testers.
  • You have a thorough understanding of technology concepts and project management principles, alongside extensive hands‑on experience managing agile projects.
