Job summary

Origin Energy, via Origin Zero, seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery of distributed energy resource projects across solar, batteries, EV charging and related assets. You will drive commercial outcomes, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery while expanding Origin’s energy transition capabilities.

The role emphasizes leadership of cross‑functional teams, governance, and continuous improvement to scale delivery across Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex, technical energy, infrastructure or building services projects.
• Strong contract management, cost control and forecasting capabilities.
• Proven stakeholder management across customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Exposure to distributed energy assets like solar, batteries, EV infrastructure, controls or energy management systems.
• Ability to leverage project systems, data dashboards and digital tools for visibility.

About the role:

At Origin Zero, we partner with large commercial and industrial customers to unlock value through the energy transition - designing, delivering and optimising integrated energy solutions that improve cost, carbon, resilience and asset performance.

As Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead delivery of increasingly complex distributed energy resource projects across solar, batteries, EV charging, embedded networks, demand management, energy efficiency and orchestration-enabled assets. This is a role for a commercially sharp, technically curious and customer-focused project leader who can manage delivery complexity while helping improve the way Origin Zero scales its project delivery capability.

What will you bring?

• Experience managing complex, technical, energy, infrastructure or building services projects
• Strong commercial capability, including contract management, cost control, forecasting, claims, variations and margin awareness
• Proven stakeholder management skills across customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, councils, network providers and internal teams
• Exposure to distributed energy assets such as solar, batteries, EV infrastructure, controls, metering or energy management systems
• Technology confidence, with the ability to use, AI, project systems, data, dashboards and digital tools to improve delivery visibility and decision-making
• Confidence managing multiple projects, competing priorities and complex customer or partner interfaces
• A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to improve the business while delivering projects

Qualifications & experience highly regarded:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, Construction Management, Commerce or similar
• Electrical, construction, EPC, consultancy or project delivery experience in complex customer environments
• Familiarity with project management, financial control and reporting tools such as SAP, MS Project, Procore, Power BI or similar
• Demonstrated experience improving project governance, delivery systems, reporting or ways of working
