Job summary

The BMD Group in NSW is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major water and wastewater infrastructure delivery across the Central Coast and adjacent regions. You will own safety, programme, commercial outcomes and client relationships while guiding multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

Based on the Central Coast, Newcastle or surrounding regions, you will be willing to commute daily to project sites and foster strong client and stakeholder engagement, delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
• Extensive experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Australia.
• Experience managing complex civil construction projects valued at significant scale.
• Delivery experience across treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, reservoirs or related utility infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead large project teams and drive high-performance cultures.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, margins and contractual obligations.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, risk management and programme delivery.
• Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities.
• A commitment to safety, collaboration and delivering quality outcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

• Oversee construction activities across treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs and associated civil infrastructure.

• Manage project risks, opportunities, procurement strategies and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Support tender development, methodologies and pre-contract planning activities for future projects.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth and capability development of BMD's water business.

About the Role

Due to continued growth within our NSW water business, we are seeking an experienced SeniorProject Manager to lead the successful delivery of upcoming water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Central Coast. This role presents an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished civil engineering professional with a proven track record delivering major water infrastructure projects throughout Australia. Reporting into senior operational leadership, you will take ownership of project performance across safety, programme, commercial outcomes and client relationships while leading multi-disciplinary project teams.

Ideally, you will be based on the Central Coast, Newcastle or surrounding regions, or be willing to commute daily to project sites.

Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams, you'll play a critical role in delivering infrastructure that supports growing communities while helping strengthen BMD's long-term presence in the NSW water market.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• Extensive experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Australia

• Demonstrated delivery experience across treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, networks, reservoirs or related utility infrastructure
