Job summary

CMC in New South Wales is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the Landslip Remediation project in Lismore. You will oversee debris extraction, micro-pile installation, and retaining wall construction to stabilise slopes, coordinating design, field operations and safety.

You will report to the Project Director, manage the contract program, monitor costs, mentor team members and ensure HSEQ standards are met, delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified Civil Engineer with 10+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience with landslip remediation is highly desirable.
• Delivery of infrastructure projects with bulk earthworks, drainage and culverts in road/rail environments.
• Procurement and management of external suppliers; and management of infrastructure.
• Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines.
• Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance, and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team and influence project outcomes with strong commercial, project management and technical engineering skills.
• Maintain and update the contract program, including productivity unit and ensuring timely notification of EOTs or delays.
• Monitor and review project task financials including monthly forecasting and short-term cost controls.
• Provide daily advice and support to field operations to ensure daily targets align with project targets.
• Identify, control, mitigate and report significant risks and opportunities under the head contract.
• Develop and retain people to produce high quality project outcomes.
• Ensure project HSEQ objectives are set, shared and adhered to creating an exemplary safety culture.

About The Role

CMC has career building opportunity for a talented and driven Senior Project Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of our major Landslip Remediation project for the city of Lismore. The work involves the extraction of landslide debris, the installation of micro-piles, and the construction of retaining walls to stabilise the slopes.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Director, you will have the autonomy to lead your team and influence project outcomes by utilising your strong commercial, project management, and technical engineering skills.

• Attend to the scope of work assigned with defined work methods and deliver the work in accordance with total project schedule; delivery of scope of works in accordance with total project schedule
• Maintain and update the contract program, including productivity unit and ensuring the timely notification of EOT's or delays
• Monitor and review the project task financial outcomes including project monthly forecasting and short-term cost controls
• Provide daily advice and support to field operations to ensure that daily targets are consistent with overall project targets
• Understand the obligations and rights under the head contract to identify, control, mitigate and report significant risks and opportunities
• Develop and retain people to produce high quality project outcomes
• Ensure project HSEQ objectives are set, shared and adhered to create an exemplary safety culture

About You

• Degree qualified Civil Engineer with 10 + years post qualification experience.
• Previous experience with landslip remediation works highly desirable although not essential.
• Delivery of infrastructure projects, with exposure to Bulk Earthworks, Drainage and Culverts in a road or rail construction environment.
• Procurement and management of external suppliers; and Management of infrastructure.
• Passion for teamwork and delivering on tight deadlines
• Excellent time management and prioritisation
• Understanding of HSEQ management systems, compliance, and reporting procedures
