Job summary

Spiecapag Australia in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer with pipeline construction experience to join our pre-contracts team. Drawing on your practical delivery background, you will provide constructability input across tenders and help develop practical, competitive project solutions.

You will work closely with estimating, engineering, procurement and operations to support tender development from initial review through submission, with exposure to pre-contracts,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Approximately 4-6 years' practical experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer on pipeline construction projects.
• Strong constructability knowledge and ability to translate site delivery into tender methodologies and execution strategies.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Provide constructability input for tenders.
• Develop and review construction methodologies, work sequencing and execution strategies for tender submissions.
• Contribute to tender risk assessments by identifying technical, construction and delivery risks, opportunities and mitigation measures.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, scope documents and technical deliverables to confirm requirements and inform tender approach.
• Support procurement by preparing RFQ packages, responding to technical queries and reviewing supplier/subcontractor submissions.
• Prepare technical tender deliverables and coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, operations and other stakeholders.
• Provide quantities, productivity assumptions, resources, construction inputs and supporting information for the estimate build-up.
• Undertake quantity take-offs and contribute to cost estimates, budgets and draft project execution schedules.
• Evaluate supplier, subcontractor and material proposals and document technical and commercial recommendations.
• Build effective working relationships with prospective clients, vendors, joint venture partners and subcontractors.

What is the job opportunity?

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer with pipeline construction experience to join our Brisbane CBD-based Pre-contracts team. Drawing on your practical delivery experience, you will provide constructability and technical input across existing and upcoming tenders and help develop practical, competitive project solutions.

Working closely with estimating, engineering, procurement and operational stakeholders, you will support tender development from initial review through to submission. The role offers broader exposure to pre-contracts and estimating, with training in Spiecapag systems and an opportunity to build whole-of-lifecycle construction project capability.

You will contribute to a range of major civil infrastructure and major pipeline projects across Australia and Asia Pacific. Your role will include:

• Support existing and upcoming tenders by providing practical constructability input informed by pipeline project delivery experience
• Develop and review construction methodologies, work sequencing and execution strategies for tender submissions
• Contribute to tender risk assessments by identifying technical, construction and delivery risks, opportunities and mitigation measures
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, scope documents and technical deliverables to confirm requirements, identify gaps and inform the tender approach
• Support procurement by preparing request for quotation (RFQ) packages, responding to technical queries and undertaking technical reviews of supplier and subcontractor submissions
• Prepare technical tender deliverables and coordinate inputs from engineering, procurement, operations and other stakeholders
• Provide quantities, productivity assumptions, resources, construction inputs and supporting information for the estimate build-up

About you?

Thesuccessful applicantwill have the following qualifications/ experience and capabilities:

• Approximately 4-6 years' practical experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer on pipeline construction projects
• Strong constructability knowledge and the ability to translate site delivery experience into practical tender methodologies and execution strategies
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical deliverables
• Understanding of pipeline construction contracts, tender processes and construction risk management
• Experience preparing technical documentation, procurement scopes or RFQ packages will be highly regarded
• Ability to work collaboratively with estimating, engineering, procurement, suppliers and subcontractors
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tender deadlines
• High-level written and verbal communication skills
