Job summary

Enemix in Sydney, NSW is seeking a Project Director (BESS) to lead large-scale renewable energy developments from origination to Final Investment Decision. You will drive multidisciplinary teams, manage complex schedules and regulatory processes, and ensure commercial outcomes aligned with project goals.

You will oversee planning, environmental assessments, grid connection activities, and stakeholder engagement with government agencies, landowners, and communities, delivering projects on time

Qualifications

• 10+ years of renewable energy or major project development experience.
• Proven track record delivering utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or hybrid projects to FID.
• Strong understanding of grid connection, NEM operations, and energy markets.
• Experience obtaining planning approvals and environmental assessments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead renewable energy projects from development through FID.
• Manage schedules, budgets, risks, governance, and key deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering, grid, commercial, legal, and stakeholder teams.
• Oversee environmental planning, approvals, and technical studies.
• Oversee consultants and contractors ensuring quality and timelines.
• Support grid connection and regulatory approval processes.
• Engage with government agencies, landowners, communities, and industry stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare management reports, governance approvals, and investment documentation.
