Job summary

The Homelessness Programs team at the Department of Communities and Justice NSW is seeking a Senior Project Officer to support management, commissioning, and implementation of homelessness programs.

You will coordinate funding, procurement, stakeholder communications, and prepare high-level briefings and reports for decision-makers, while guiding a team to achieve program objectives in a hybrid, full-time role.

Your role

The Homelessness Programs team is responsible for supporting the effective management, commissioning, and implementation of homelessness programs.

The Senior Project Officer reports to the Manager, Homelessness Program Management

What you’ll do

During the placement, you will:

• Support the management of homelessness programs including but not limited to funding, including budget allocation, monitoring, and preparation for future commissioning of homelessness programs.
• Contribute to commissioning processes, including procurement, funding agreement development, and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate program initiatives, including the preparation of high-level briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence to support informed decision-making.
• Provide evidence-based advice and strategic reports to the Director and Executive Director to inform decision-making and assess business impacts.
• Liaise across DCJ divisions and with non-government stakeholders to ensure effective program development and implementation.
• Support and guide team members in delivering program objectives and implementing program plans.

You are a proactive and collaborative professional with experience in program management, commissioning of human services, service delivery in the homelessness or broader human services sector. You bring strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable communities.
