Job summary

Healthy Land & Water in Queensland seeks a Program Manager to lead complex, multi-year initiatives in water by design, reporting to the Environment & Sustainability Manager. You’ll drive program plans, budgets, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients and partners.

The role offers a max-term contract (9 months, with potential part-time for the right candidate) and flexible working arrangements to support environmental impact and community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Environment, or Business.
• Experience managing complex programs or projects from planning to delivery, preferably multi-year timelines.
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships across government, industry, research organisations, and community groups.
• Strong understanding of project management processes, strategies, and methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of programs to meet objectives.
• Develop and oversee program plans, budgets, and reporting frameworks.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and resources to deliver work packages.
• Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies; implement mitigations.
• Maintain strong relationships with local government, developers, consultants, and industry bodies.
• Translate stakeholder needs into projects, events, training, resources, and services.
• Ensure timely communication on progress and outcomes.
• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to improve delivery.
• Apply scientific, environmental, engineering, or PM expertise to guide delivery.
• Prepare and review reports, proposals, tenders, and technical documents.
