EGM is delighted to be exclusively partnering with ReturnToWorkSA to recruit their new Senior Program Manager, who will lead the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), as well as digital program delivery and analysis, on a 3‑year fixed‑term contract.

About ReturntoWorkSA

At ReturnToWorkSA, their purpose is to empower and support South Australians impacted by work injury. Their services and those delivered by their claims agents are designed to provide early intervention support to workers and employers following a work injury to ensure the worker can recover and return to work as quickly as possible. ReturnToWorkSA is embarking on an exciting digital transformation, and we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to join their team.

About the role

This role integrates governance, risk, delivery execution, benefits management, and reporting into a single capability that enables disciplined, coordinated, and results‑driven transformation and program delivery. By embedding governance and assurance directly into delivery, the Senior Program Manager ensures transformation initiatives are both strategically aligned and operationally effective.

Operating at senior leadership level, the Senior Program Manager reports to the Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) and works closely with executive sponsors and business leaders to prioritise and sequence initiatives, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver outcomes that enable digital adoption, operational excellence, and sustainable value realisation.

Key responsibilities include
  • Provide strategic leadership and accountability for the digital transformation portfolio.
  • Lead the DTO as an integrated governance and delivery function.
  • Lead the digital program, projects and analysis team.
  • Translate enterprise priorities into a clear, outcomes‑focused roadmap.
  • Drive measurable improvements to operations and customer experience.
  • Oversee portfolio governance, prioritisation, and alignment with strategy.
  • Coordinate delivery across initiatives, managing risks and interdependencies.
  • Embed assurance and benefits frameworks to drive accountability and value.
  • Partner with the CDIO, executives, and delivery partners for effective collaboration.
  • Integrate change management to support adoption and business readiness.
  • Build organisational capability and a high‑performance, inclusive team culture.
About you
  • 10+ years’ experience in senior program leadership, including digital or technology‑enabled transformations.
  • Proven success engaging with executives and boards to shape and deliver enterprise outcomes.
  • Demonstrated operational leadership of large‑scale, enterprise‑wide digital transformation programs and program delivery.
  • Expertise in both program governance and hands‑on delivery orchestration.
  • Strong capability in benefits realisation, reporting, and performance management.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, executive influencing, and communication skills.
  • Strategic and commercial acumen with ability to balance vision and execution.
  • Strong understanding of digital delivery methods, program assurance, and change management.
  • Program/project management certification (e.g., MSP, PgMP, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe) desirable.
