Job summary

Advanced Navigation is seeking a Senior Product Validation Engineer to lead real-world testing and validation of our navigation solutions at the customer level. You will design and execute test plans, collect field data, and ensure performance, usability, and reliability meet customer expectations.

In this role you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and customers to refine products based on insights and to drive continuous improvement across land, air, and sea

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, CS, Robotics or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience testing hardware and software-based systems, ideally in navigation, robotics or autonomous systems in a defence environment.
• Experience with defence standards and GNSS, inertial navigation, sensor fusion.
• Proficiency in Python and MATLAB (or similar) for data analysis and validation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Validation Engineer to drive real-world testing and validation of all Advanced Navigation products at the customer level. In this role, you will design and execute test plans, collect and analyse field data, and ensure that our navigation solutions meet customer expectations for performance, usability, and reliability. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and customers to refine products based on real-world insights and contribute to continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute product validation test plans to ensure high reliability, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct real-world field testing across various environments (land, air, sea) to evaluate product performance.
• Collect, analyze, and report test data to identify potential performance gaps and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes.
• Maintain detailed test documentation, including validation reports and field test procedures.
• Support the automation and optimization of test processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop new testing tools and capabilities.

Qualifications, skills and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field.
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in testing hardware and software-based systems, ideally in navigation, robotics or autonomous systems in a defence environment.
• Experience with defence standards.
• Understanding of GNSS, inertial navigation, sensor fusion and position systems.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and data analysis tools including Python, MATLAB, or similar.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to document technical procedures and results clearly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
