About the role

Reporting to the Head of Product Planning, the Senior Product Planner utilises insights and intelligence to develop strategic plans across the allocated product portfolio. The role will lead product planning and lifecycle management activities that match customer expectations and deliver on financial objectives, including pricing management for allocated products.

This role will also lead a Product Planner, working closely with them to meet the department/business objectives, including management of Model launches.

How you'll make an impact
  • Develop 5-year product strategies using insights from customer, market, and competitor analysis.
  • Create long-term market & segment forecast as well as sales plans (up to 10 years) based on market analysis, segment inflow/outflow, economic indicators, customer preference and intelligence generation on competitor activity.
  • Develop Product Life cycle (PLC) management plans.
  • Create Limited Edition plans based on available options and accessories parts. Negotiate with factory, Global office and Honda Accessories to build the LE at the factory location.
  • Keep track of Regulation changes and create plans to meet the changes.
  • Work with the industry body to gain early insight into the regulation changes and influence the outcome.
  • As required, manage the launch coordination process and ensure all models are launched with no major issues and achieve the set objective for the model.
  • Manage all research activity by closely working with the market research partner.
  • Actively seek feedback from customers, regional offices and dealers to understand Honda and competitors' products strengths and weaknesses.
What you'll bring to Honda
  • Degree in Business, or Marketing or similar relevant experience in a related field.
  • Experience in a product planning, product management or strategic planning role within the automotive industry is essential.
  • Prior leadership experience will be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to gain insights from complicated data analysis.
  • Able to identify trends and changes on data and make decision accordingly.
  • Experience in project management will be highly regarded.
