The Opportunity

A significant leadership opportunity has emerged for a seasoned professional to join their Product team in a strategic role that blends technical expertise with forward-thinking product strategy. You'll be responsible for shaping the retirement and defined benefit product suite, ensuring it remains fit-for-purpose, commercially sound and compliant with the latest regulatory requirements. Working across Brisbane or Sydney, you'll influence product direction, build team capability, and partner with key stakeholders to deliver products that work for members.

Key Accountabilities

• Drive product strategy and design decisions for retirement and defined benefit offerings, balancing commercial sustainability with member interests and regulatory obligations


• Champion a culture of structured product governance, establishing and maintaining clear frameworks, decision records and review cycles that support accountability and oversight


• Identify and evaluate product improvements, market positioning and operational enhancements through rigorous analysis, stakeholder engagement and market intelligence


• Serve as the trusted expert voice on retirement income, defined benefits and product regulation across the business, providing guidance on complex technical and compliance matters


• Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering expertise development and collaborative problem-solving across the product function


• Ensure product offerings reflect legislative requirements, industry standards and the fund's strategic priorities through robust governance and compliance practices


• Collaborate with operations, technology, legal and other business units to translate product strategy into seamless member experiences and organisational outcomes

Ideal Experience

• Extensive background in superannuation product management, with demonstrable expertise in retirement income products and defined benefit administration


• Strong grounding in the regulatory environment-Retirement Income Covenant, Design and Distribution Obligations, and broader compliance frameworks


• Track record of designing and implementing governance structures, policies and oversight mechanisms in complex, regulated environments


• Ability to synthesise data, market trends and member feedback into strategic recommendations that drive competitive positioning and member value


• Proven capability in developing talent, leading teams through change and building effective stakeholder partnerships across the organisation
