Job summary

OpenTable in Australia is seeking an experienced Product Designer to elevate our private dining platform. You will lead complex design challenges, collaborate with product managers and engineers, and drive research with restaurant owners to craft scalable, delightful experiences for B2B2C workflows.

You will design across web and mobile, apply AI tools like Cursor, Figma Make, and Claude, and contribute to a dynamic, global team focused on hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

The opportunity:

You'll be joining the growing Private Dining Team in Australia and help elevate OpenTable's newest line of business. The team is building the next generation event management for our top restaurant groups. We're deeply involved from concept, prototyping, implementation, delivery, to customer validation. We believe in empowering individuals to do phenomenal work.

You’ll get to:

• Lead initiatives that give restaurateurs new and meaningful ways to efficiently manage their private dining operations
• Have direct impact on consumer facing experiences for our private dining offerings in the OpenTable app
• Become an expert in restaurant operator workflows by facilitating research with restaurant owners and staff.
• Use systems thinking to scale solutions across our platform.
• Work closely with a smart and collaborative team of product designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver experiences that help restaurants provide the best hospitality for their guests.

How we design for restaurants

Your skills and experience:

You enjoy solving complex design challenges and have strong visual and interaction design skills. You have an exceptional portfolio that showcases a breadth of product design work. You also have:

• Strong at designing and solving for complex or B2B2C workflows.
• The ability to negotiate, prioritize, and break down design work into measurable outcomes.
• Strong systems thinking and able to design for multiple platforms (web and mobile).
• High level of confidence and pragmatism about the design direction.
• Strong at leading and facilitating workshops with cross-functional partners.
• Strong product and business thinking.
• Great written and verbal communication skills.
• Led user interviews and testing of designs.
• Experience working closely with product and engineering in an agile environment.
• At least 5 years of product design experience.
• Fluency in AI tools such as Cursor, Figma Make or Claude.
• Expertise in Figma and other prototyping tools.
