Job summary

Northern Territory Government is seeking an Administrative Officer 6 to join the central Privacy Unit within Information Services. The role supports agencies across the Territory to interpret privacy obligations and implement practical information management practices.

You will deliver guidance, training and resources to build privacy capability, contribute to privacy by design, and mentor team members in delivering privacy services across multiple NT regions.

Qualifications

• Experience in privacy, information management, governance, compliance, policy or another role involving the interpretation and application of legislation.
• Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical advice.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and in plain English.
• Experience delivering training, coaching or other capability building activities.
• Sound judgement, discretion and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a sensitive and confidential environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Northern Territory Government agencies to help them manage and meet their privacy obligations.
• Provide practical guidance on privacy principles, information handling, and relevant legislation.
• Design and deliver training and resources that build privacy awareness and capability across government.
• Contribute to privacy by design initiatives and improvements to policies, resources and privacy practices.
• Support and mentor colleagues involved in the delivery of privacy services.
