Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer for the Solutions Architecture team in Chatswood, Australia. You will assess customer infrastructure, design compute and cooling solutions, and deploy AI/HPC clusters across data centers.

In this hands-on role, you will work across the full solution lifecycle, mentor engineers, and collaborate with customers, architects and partners to deliver high-performance, scalable infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering AI, HPC or GPU infrastructure solutions.
• Strong Linux, servers, storage and networking knowledge.
• Experience in multi-node, multi-rack deployments.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across ANZ and internationally.

What you’ll achieve:

Help design and deliver the infrastructure powering the next generation of AI. We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to assess, design and deploy advanced AI GPU and HPC environments for enterprise customers. You'll work across the full solution lifecycle from data centre assessments and solution design through deployment, validation and customer handover. This is a hands‑on role working with cutting‑edge AI infrastructure including liquid‑cooled and air‑cooled clusters, NVIDIA networking, high‑speed fabrics and integrated rack solutions.

You will:

• Assess customer infrastructure and data centre readiness
• Design compute, storage, networking, power, cooling and cabling solutions
• Produce rack layouts, connectivity designs and implementation documentation
• Deploy and validate AI/HPC clusters and integrated rack solutions
• Deliver air‑cooled and liquid‑cooled environments, including CDUs and rear‑door heat exchangers
• Validate physical fabric connectivity using NVIDIA Cable Validation Tool (CVT)
• Work with InfiniBand, Spectrum‑X and high‑speed Ethernet technologies
• Perform system bring‑up, troubleshooting and performance testing
• Mentor engineers and build technical capability across the team
• Collaborate with customers, architects, project managers and technology partners
