Job summary

Arcadis Brisbane is seeking Senior and Principal Ecologists to join our growing Queensland team. You will deliver major ecological projects, provide technical advice, and mentor junior ecologists across a range of field-based surveys and reporting.

Ideal candidates will have tertiary ecology qualifications, experience in flora and/or fauna assessments in QLD, strong communication skills, and a track record in project delivery and mentoring.

• Knowledge of flora and/or fauna identification and assessment in QLD.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant post-graduate experience, including report delivery and project management.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing ecologists and providing technical support.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical ecological advice and report deliverables on a range of complex projects.
• Field based data collection, surveys and mapping including threatened species surveys and PCT identification.
• Supporting the National Ecology Lead in maintaining a sustainable pipeline of work for a growing team through business development.
• Involvement in proposals and building awareness of the Arcadis brand and ecological capabilities of the team.
• Proactively managing projects or components of projects, quality assurance and development of client relationships.

Role description

With a growing pipeline of diverse project work we are looking for Senior and Principal Ecologists to join our Brisbane team. You will be focusing on the delivery of major projects across Queensland, while assisting in the growth of a national ecology team across the east coast. You\’ll get your hands onto some interesting and challenging projects, from large impact assessments to small conservation and offset projects while mentoring the juniors of the team.

Role accountabilities

• Providing technical ecological advice and report deliverables on a range of complex projects


• Field based data collection, surveys and mapping including threatened species surveys and PCT identification


• Supporting the National Ecology Lead in maintaining a sustainable pipeline of work for a growing team through business development

Qualifications & Experience

First and foremost, you share our passion for improving quality of life. You are a flora and /or fauna ecologist with experience in consultancy and you will come to us with:

• Tertiary qualifications in ecology or other relevant degree


• Knowledge of, and experience in, flora and/or fauna identification and assessment in QLD


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Relevant post-graduate experience, including report delivery and project management


• Experience leading, mentoring and developing ecologists and providing technical support.
