Kummara Ltd. is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation established in 1999 to provide support to vulnerable families at risk. The organisation's objective is to support the long-term wellbeing and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. Kummara offers many programs and works in partnership with families for the achievement of independence and strengthening of the family's capabilities. We believe in the strengths of family and community and have developed a strong reputation for engaging and supporting our community.

About the service:

It recognises the evidence of long‑term loss caused to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who are raised without knowledge of, and links to, their family, language, culture and country. It also reflects the five core elements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle (ATSICPP): Prevention, Partnership, Placement, Participation and Connection.

Provide and facilitate case consults and direct supervision with Family Led Safety and Support Practitioners in accordance with evidence-based practice, best practice and effective risk management.
