Job summary

Latrobe Regional Health’s Gippsland Region Public Health Unit seeks a Senior Prevention & Population Health Officer to drive evidence-informed health promotion across Gippsland. Based in Wonthaggi, the role partners with communities and local government to deliver population health initiatives and equity-focused outcomes.

The position supports implementation of the Gippsland Population Health Strategy and leads collaborative, multidisciplinary work with partners to strengthen regional public

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of population health, prevention and public health systems.
• Proven ability to design, implement and evaluate programs with measurable outcomes.
• Experience with community engagement and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate health promotion and prevention activities based on evidence and local needs.
• Build partnerships with community organisations, local government and health services.
• Lead community engagement to ensure inclusive and culturally appropriate health promotion.
• Support strategic planning using data to inform decisions and drive outcomes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to team members and students.
• Contribute to research, reporting and evaluation activities and develop case studies.
