Job summary

Sportsbet Pty Ltd. is seeking an experienced policy, government affairs or corporate affairs professional to help shape regulatory and reputational outcomes in a highly regulated industry.

You will work within the Corporate Affairs team, translating external developments into actionable insights for the business. Reporting to the Head of External Affairs & Policy, you will lead policy portfolios, develop submissions and advocacy materials, build relationships with government and industry

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of political, legislative and regulatory processes and how they impact commercial outcomes.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive briefings, submissions and advocacy materials.
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes, lead complex issues and drive decisions without direct authority.
  • Capability to combine strategic thinking with commercial acumen, balancing long-term outcomes with practical business realities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key policy portfolios and strategic initiatives, bringing together cross-functional stakeholders to drive decisions and deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Develop policy positions, submissions and advocacy materials that support Sportsbet's commercial, regulatory and reputation objectives.
  • Identify emerging political, regulatory and industry trends early, translating them into proactive strategies, risks, opportunities and recommendations for the business.
  • Build trusted relationships with government, regulatory bodies, industry partners and other external stakeholders to influence balanced and practical policy outcomes.
  • Provide senior leaders with clear, actionable advice on complex external issues and their implications for Sportsbet's future direction

About The Role

Reporting into the Head of External Affairs & Policy, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of one of Australia's most recognised brands in a fast-moving and highly regulated industry. Sitting within our wider Corporate Affairs team, you'll help Sportsbet stay ahead of emerging policy, regulatory and reputational issues, turning complex external developments into clear business insights and practical action. You'll work across some of our most important priorities, including safer gambling, regulatory reform and industry advocacy, partnering with teams across the business and engaging with key external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes

About You

You're an experienced policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs or corporate affairs professional who thrives in complex and highly regulated environments. While we are big on development and offer on the job training, we want to set you up for success. So, along with a great attitude, it would be ideal that you have:

  • Strong understanding of political, legislative and regulatory processes and how they impact commercial outcomes.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive briefings, submissions and advocacy materials.
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes, lead complex issues and drive decisions without direct authority.
  • Capability to combine strategic thinking with commercial acumen, balancing long-term outcomes with practical business realities.
