Job summary

Hunter Douglas, Inc. is looking for a Cloud Engineer in Melbourne, Victoria, to manage Azure infrastructure and ensure operational continuity during APAC hours. You will be responsible for maintaining CI/CD pipelines, monitoring platform health, and responding to incidents. Job description

• Own and operate Azure infrastructure across all HDEcom Brands: VMs, App Services, Azure SQL, network, storage.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for .NET services and Shopify integrations.
• Monitor platform health, respond to alerts, diagnose and fix issues during APAC hours.
• Push infrastructure-as-code adoption, improve DR posture, and tighten deployment automation.
• Manage Cloudflare configurations (DNS, WAF, caching, Page Rules) across the portfolio.

Incident Response & Operational Continuity

• Follow and improve existing SOPs documented in Confluence; apply them as first responder during APAC hours.
• Triage production incidents, restore service, elevate when needed, document root cause.
• Contact and coordinate with third‑party vendors (hosting partners, services contractors) directly.

Application & Database Support

• Monitor Azure SQL performance, investigate slow queries, manage index health, elevate complex issues.

Security & Compliance

• Execute patching cycles for OS and middleware.
• Participate in access reviews, identity management, and security hardening.
• Support SOX compliance activities for infrastructure controls and audit evidence.
• Work closely with the external development, QA, and DevOps team as you will share the most time‑zone overlap.
• Help with infrastructure requests, environment provisioning, and deployment support.
• Lead handover sessions so nothing falls through the cracks between shifts.

Required Experience & Skills

• 5–8 years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
• Solid Windows Server and IIS administration skills.
• CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance (YAML pipelines, release gates, artifact management).
• Working knowledge of .NET / C# applications — enough to read logs, restart services, and triage errors.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare or similar CDN/edge platforms.
• Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring and alerting tools.
• Strong incident management skills: calm under pressure, methodical, thorough in documentation.
• Effective communicator; you'll work across several countries and time zones daily via MS Teams, Jira, and Confluence.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify or ecommerce platforms at an infrastructure level.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
• SOX or similar compliance frameworks in a technology context.
• Linux comfort (Ubuntu) for occasional CLI‑based tooling work.
• Interest in AI‑assisted operations and tooling.
