Job summary

PaCE QS Services is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join the Project Controls team and support the planning, scheduling and delivery of major capital projects.

This role is suited to a hands-on planning professional with approximately 7–12 years' relevant project experience who is confident developing, maintaining and analysing complex project schedules and providing project leadership with clear, reliable and forward-looking schedule information.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 7–12 years' relevant project experience.
  • Experience within Mining & Minerals Processing (requirement).
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Current work rights in Australia (required).
  • Experience in Owner's Team, EPCM environment, engineering consultancy or major contractor is relevant.
  • Certificate Project Management (advantage).
  • Engineering qualification (advantage).

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Developing Level 2, Level 3 and detailed execution schedules (Level 4-6).
  • Establishing and maintaining project baselines and WBS structures.
  • Integrating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities into the overall project programme.
  • Regular schedule updates and progress measurement.
  • Performing CPM and near-critical path analysis.
  • Monitoring planned versus actual progress and identifying variances.
  • Reviewing schedule logic, constraints, float and activity sequencing.
  • Forecasting key project milestones and completion dates.
  • Developing weekly and monthly look-ahead schedules.

Job description

PaCE QS Services is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join the Project Controls team and support the planning, scheduling and delivery of major capital projects. This role is suited to a hands-on planning professional with approximately 7–12 years' relevant project experience who is confident developing, maintaining and analysing complex project schedules and providing project leadership with clear, reliable and forward-looking schedule information. The successful candidate will work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commercial and project controls teams and will be expected to actively challenge programme assumptions, identify emerging schedule risks and support the development of practical mitigation and recovery strategies.

Key responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Developing Level 2, Level 3 and detailed execution schedules (Level 4-6)
  • Establishing and maintaining project baselines and appropriate WBS structures
  • Integrating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities into the overall project programme
  • Undertaking regular schedule updates and progress measurement
  • Performing Critical Path Method (CPM) and near-critical path analysis
  • Monitoring planned versus actual progress and identifying schedule variances
  • Reviewing schedule logic, constraints, float and activity sequencing
  • Forecasting key project milestones and completion dates
  • Developing weekly and monthly look-ahead schedules
About you
  • Approximately 7–12 years' relevant project experience
