Job summary

Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia is seeking a Senior Planner to develop and maintain schedules for a portfolio of projects at the Kwinana plant. The role requires critical path analysis, risk identification and recovery planning in a live process environment.

Ideal candidates will have a tertiary engineering-related qualification and 10+ years in project planning, with strong skills in Primavera P6/Oracle Primavera Cloud, MS Project and Power BI. This is a full-time position based in Perth region.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of planning and scheduling experience in the resources industry.
• Brownfield shutdowns and live plant scheduling experience.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Primavera Cloud, MS Project and Power BI.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise integrated level-4 schedules across multiple portfolios.
• Create shutdown, recovery and lookup schedules with detailed look-ahead planning.
• Integrate contractor and supplier schedules into the master schedule.
• Develop manning histograms and S-Curves tied to resource-loaded schedules.
• Collaborate with project engineers and leads to ensure schedule integrity.
• Establish progress measurement for Engineering and Construction contracts.
• Update schedules with actual progress and monitor against baselines.
• Lead schedule reviews and provide data-driven recovery plans to leadership.

About The Position

TLEA is welcoming applications for a full-time, Max term Senior Planner to join our team working at our Kwinana plant. Please note that this role will be considered for job share, for those applicants seeking part-time work.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analysing schedules for a portfolio of 12 projects within an operating process-plant environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely project delivery by performing detailed critical path analysis, identifying risks to baseline schedules, and forecasting potential impacts to completion dates. The Planner collaborates closely with Project Engineers and Lead Project Controls to support schedule integrity and facilitate recovery planning when deviations occur.

In addition to possessing our core values of distinction, pragmatism, honesty, tenacity and innovation, this position will suit an individual with prior Planning experience, ideally within Brownfields Environments and Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise integrated owners detailed multi-disciplinary level 4 Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning schedules using tools like Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud within a capital projects portfolio.
• Develop detailed level 4 shutdown schedules, recovery and look-ahead schedules.
• Integrate contractor and suppliers’ schedules into the master project schedule.
• Develop manning histograms and S-Curves in conjunction with resource loaded schedules.
• Work closely with Project engineers, discipline engineers, and others to understand the scope of work and acquire inputs to schedule development.
• Establish and manage progress measurement system for Engineering and Construction contracts
• Update schedules based on actual progress and monitor progress against baseline schedules to identify critical path, potential risks, delays, or deviations from baseline.
• Review contractors’ schedules, verify progress, and present schedule reports, forecasts, and recovery plans.
• Lead schedule reviews, develop schedules for alternate planning scenarios and provide data driven insights to project leadership to support decision-making
• Ensure compliance with company standards, Governance framework and TLK Project Controls Standard

What You Can Bring

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in project planning and scheduling in the resources industry
• Demonstrated scheduling expertise in brownfield construction shutdowns and working in live plant environment.
• Strong proficiency in scheduling software: Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, MS Project, Power BI and other supporting tools; MS Office suite and Navisworks.
• Ability to understand and use technical documentation such as 3D model, Structural, Mechanical and Piping drawings, MTOs etc. in developing project schedules.
• Good understanding of design/engineering workflows, equipment procurement lifecycle, construction methodologies and commissioning stages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, AACE) is a plus
