Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Senior Piping / Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations business in Perth, Western Australia on secondment to a major client. The role covers brownfields Oil & Gas projects, reporting to the regional piping/mechanical lead and spanning FEED through EPCM delivery.

You will supervise supplier design, review technical documentation, and support construction and commissioning. Must have full work rights in Australia and reside in Perth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
• 6+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer in Oil & Gas brownfields.
• Experience across FEED, Front End, Detailed Design and commissioning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Equipment/Package Technical Specifications, Data Sheets and Requisitions.
• Technically evaluate supplier bids and generate reports to support orders.
• Supervise supplier design and coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
• Review GA/ITP/Calculations and Fabrication Procedures for approval.
• Attend progressive inspections and FAT/SAT at sites or vendors.
• Provide package status reporting including schedules and costs.
• Liaise between functions, vendor, and client for updates and guidance.
• Act as mechanical focal point for small scopes and weekly updates.
• Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and HAZID/HAZOP meetings.
• Contribute to construction workpacks and support installation/commissioning.
