About the role

As the Senior Pharmacist in Cancer Services, you will be working within the wider NALHN Pharmacy Cancer Services Team and lead the organisation, management and day-to-day operation of Cancer Services across NALHN (including Lyell McEwin Hospital Cancer Centre, Modbury Hospital Cancer Centre and Playford Hub), ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive, high-level pharmacy service. Working with professional autonomy, you will provide expert medicines information, therapeutic advice and clinical support to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other health professionals. You will ensure all services align with hospital policies, divisional procedures and professional standards, contributing to safe, effective and consistent pharmacy practice.

In this pivotal role, you will champion the quality use of medicines by implementing evidence-based strategies that optimise patient outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner. You will contribute to clinical decision-making, support multidisciplinary collaboration and promote best-practice standards across the service. Your leadership will help drive continuous improvement, strengthen medication safety, and foster a positive, patient-centred culture within the pharmacy and broader healthcare team.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

Clinical and Professional Competence

Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registration/eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia, supported by extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice.

Leadership & Team Capability

Demonstrated supervisory or management experience, with the ability to lead, mentor and educate multidisciplinary staff while fostering a collaborative workplace culture.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Strengths

Proven ability to research, analyse and interpret data, exercise sound judgement and implement effective strategies to improve service delivery.

Communication & Organisational Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public relations abilities, and the capacity to manage competing deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
