Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is seeking a Senior Payroll Officer for a 6-month transformation contract. The role is remote from Australia, with early-morning coverage aligned to AEST, delivering end-to-end payroll for large enterprise client accounts and supporting broader finance workflows.

You will manage multi-cycle payroll runs, audit timesheets and leave, post payroll journals, and handle payroll tax lodgements while providing trusted guidance to client teams and ensuring statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in senior payroll administration for high-volume, multi-cycle payrolls.
• Experience with multi-enterprise payrolls and statutory compliance.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll standards and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Execute timely, accurate multi-cycle payroll runs for large enterprise clients.
• Audit and process high-volume timesheets, attendance, and leave.
• Post payroll journals, perform month-end reconciliations, and lodging payroll tax.
• Investigate payroll inquiries and provide trusted guidance to client teams.
• Navigate payroll platforms to streamline workflows and support system enhancements.
• Assist broader finance tasks including accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
