Job summary

Twoscots Recruitment partners with a leading Australian retail organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to their team. You will own end-to-end payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Working with the Head of Payroll & HRIS, you will advise on awards, legislation and complex payroll matters, and drive continuous improvement through system enhancements and automation.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive end-to-end payroll experience within a complex or high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Experience with large payroll systems such as Dayforce, Chris21, SAP, PayGlobal, Workday or UKG.
• Strong Excel, reconciliation and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident, proactive and solutions-focused, with strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience processing New Zealand payroll is a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review end-to-end payroll across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Process complex payroll matters including terminations, ETPs, redundancies, executive pays and payment remediation.
• Manage key compliance requirements including Superannuation, PAYG, Payroll Tax, STP and Workers Compensation.
• Escalation point for complex payroll queries, award interpretation and compliance matters.
• Drive continuous improvement through payroll projects, system enhancements, testing and process automation.
