Job summary

Talent is seeking a Database Administrator to manage the organisation’s Oracle databases, ensuring security and availability across business needs. You will handle enterprise databases for hosting, development, and testing environments, including design, proactive administration, and backup/recovery planning.

You will work with Exadata appliances, perform patching, backups, and provide coverage for Linux/Unix, storage, and middleware administration, while coordinating with vendors under SLAs.

Qualifications

• Oracle DB admin experience on Exadata appliances.
• Experience with Oracle 19c, Data Guard, RAC, and ASM.
• Automation of DB tasks using SQL/PL-SQL and Linux shell scripting.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise databases on Exadata appliances for hosting.
• Patch Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• Backup databases and monitor backups, perform restorations as needed.
• Support Linux/Unix, storage, Oracle middleware, WebSphere administration.
• Escalate issues to vendors per SLAs and coordinate resolutions.
• Advise on database and report development aspects.
