Job summary

The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is seeking a Senior Operations Officer to join the Operational Coordination Unit in Parramatta. You will coordinate regulatory services, triage and allocate environmental reports and referrals, and contribute to planning and licensing activities.

You will provide analysis and advice while collaborating with stakeholders for effective NSW regulatory outcomes. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in government/regulatory environments,

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating complex workflows within a government or regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven reporting capabilities.
• Ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures to support decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, briefings and recommendations.
• Experience delivering high-quality customer and stakeholder service in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Knowledge of environmental regulation, planning or compliance functions will be highly regarded.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operations Officer to join the NSW EPA's Operational Coordination Unit. In this role, you will coordinate and support key regulatory services across the EPA, including the triage, prioritisation and allocation of environmental reports, referrals and requests. You will contribute to planning, licensing and operational coordination activities, provide analysis and advice, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to support effective regulatory outcomes across NSW.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience coordinating complex workflows, competing priorities and regulatory activities within a government or regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, emerging issues and opportunities for improvement through data and reporting.
• Experience interpreting legislation, policies, procedures and business rules to support consistent and effective decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across teams to achieve organisational outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, correspondence, briefings and recommendations.
• Experience delivering high-quality customer and stakeholder service in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Knowledge of environmental regulation, planning or compliance functions will be highly regarded.
