Job summary

Yarra Trams is seeking a Manager, Risk to lead the operational risk framework and safety culture across the organisation in Melbourne. You will identify, assess, manage and mitigate risks spanning health, safety, environment, sustainability and security, reporting to the Director, Risk and Quality.

You will drive the risk program, manage the risk register, provide strategic advice to leaders, and coordinate Change and Notifications with regulators.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Risk, Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience across risk, safety, engineering or compliance.
• Experience implementing and operating an integrated Safety Management System (SMS).
• Strong experience assessing operational risks in technical/infrastructure/transport environments.
• Proven success leading safety initiatives and change programs.
• Understanding of Australian OHS and Rail Safety legislation and standards.
• Experience establishing and maintaining compliance frameworks and assurance programs.
• Knowledge of operational rules, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Experience managing MoC processes and regulatory submissions.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership coaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework and Safety Management System.
• Promote a strong risk and safety culture across all levels of the business.
• Manage the Operational Risk Register with risk assessment, monitoring, reporting and escalation.
• Provide strategic risk guidance to leaders and executives.
• Lead MoC processes to ensure safe implementation of changes.
• Coordinate NoC with ONRSR.
• Deliver risk and safety training programs.
• Monitor risk reporting, investigations and audits to strengthen assurance.
• Prepare and present risk and compliance reports to senior management and regulators.
• Build collaborative relationships to influence safety outcomes.
