About the role

The Senior Officer, Operations & Support provides logistical and administrative support for the School of Information Technology’s Capstone Program, ensuring smooth delivery of events, student activities, and processes. The role works closely with stakeholders to manage technical infrastructure, accommodate enrolments, and optimise workflows to support both students and staff.

As a Senior Officer, Operations & Support, you will:
  • Play a key role in the smooth running of the Capstone Program, providing dynamic administrative support for exciting program activities and events.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and the OnTrack project team to innovate and streamline technical workflows, ensuring seamless program delivery.
  • Be the trusted go-to person for student queries, offering expert guidance on Capstone processes and helping students navigate their education journey.
  • Collect valuable feedback from students, mentors, and stakeholders to continuously improve the program, while supporting students with project management and industry connections for their Capstone projects.
In a typical day, you will:
  • Prioritise tasks and evaluate progress, overcoming obstacles and finding effective solutions to achieve outcomes.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement, seek feedback from colleagues and stakeholders, and take action to drive positive change.
  • Coach and support team members, fostering their growth and development while collaborating across teams to share knowledge and expertise.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with colleagues across the University, understanding how your work contributes to the broader organisational goals.
  • Continuously seek to improve personal impact through self‑awareness, emotional wellbeing, and adapting positively to change, while ensuring excellent customer service and effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders.
To be successful, you’ll have:
  • A degree in a relevant field (IT, business, or project management) with relevant experience ideally within an IT or project‑based setting, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in technical or administrative fields, with a focus on complex organisational structures.
  • Proven experience in administrative roles within large organisations, navigating complex policies and procedures.
  • Ability to thrive in high‑pressure, diverse environments, handling face‑to‑face, phone, and written communication.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as MS Teams, Zoom, Trello, and GitHub for effective collaboration and support.
