Job description

We're seeking an experienced Senior Network Consultant to provide strategic technical leadership and expert consultancy across a large-scale enterprise network environment. This role will focus on network strategy, service improvement, governance, vendor management and ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable and high-performing network services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior networking professional to play a key role in shaping enterprise network capability while working alongside technical teams, business stakeholders and managed service providers.

THE ROLE

Working closely with infrastructure teams, technical leaders, business stakeholders and external service providers, you will provide senior technical consultancy across enterprise network services and infrastructure initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide expert technical consultancy and specialist advice on enterprise network services, infrastructure initiatives and technology solutions
• Assess business requirements and the technical viability of network proposals, providing strategic recommendations and solution options
• Lead the development and implementation of network strategies, standards and continuous service improvement initiatives
• Support network governance activities, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, standards and operational requirements
• Review network performance, capacity and emerging risks, recommending improvements to optimise service delivery
• Provide expert guidance on complex network issues, technical challenges and operational risks
• Manage relationships with network vendors and managed service providers, ensuring agreed service levels are achieved
• Facilitate technical workshops and stakeholder engagement activities to support planning, delivery and continuous improvement
• Develop and maintain network documentation, operational procedures and technical standards
• Prepare reporting, risk assessments and technical recommendations to support informed decision-making

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Extensive experience working within large and complex enterprise ICT and network environments
• Proven experience providing senior network consultancy and technical leadership
• Strong knowledge of contemporary networking technologies, enterprise infrastructure and network service management
• Demonstrated experience managing network vendors and managed service providers, including monitoring performance against agreed service levels
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
• Demonstrated ability to deliver customer-focused network infrastructure solutions within complex operational environments
• Extensive knowledge and practical application of ITIL principles and service management practices
• Previous experience working within health, government or other large, complex enterprise environments will be highly regarded
