Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Canberra ACT seeks a Mk41 Vertical Launching System and Guided Weapon Specialist. The role focuses on supervising intermediate level maintenance, providing technical assurance and training support, and contributing to policy development within the armaments and weapons systems domain.

The ideal candidate should have an engineering or science degree, experience with guided weapons, and the ability to coordinate stakeholders and communicate complex technical data

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and report on intermediate level technical maintenance activities.
• Experience in providing technical assurance of equipment, systems and processes.
• Practical engineering/technical judgement in asset condition assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise intermediate level maintenance activities including installation and checkout.
• Provide specialist advice on maintenance and training; feedback on certification programs.
• Participate in identification, training, assessment and certification of Mk41 VLS I‑Level maintainers.
• Contribute to review, amendment, and development of related policy.
