Evolution Mining is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for Ernest Henry Operations to lead a team delivering critical short-term planning and drill & blast activities at our world-class underground mine. The role offers residential or FIFO options from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns on an 8/6 roster.

You will influence production outcomes by translating strategy into safe, achievable mine plans and providing technical direction across the short-term planning function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Underground mining experience across short-term planning, production engineering and drill and blast.
• Experience with Sub Level Caving operations or deep understanding of cave mining methods.

This is more than a planning role. It's an opportunity to influence the future direction of one of Australia's premier underground mining operations.

As our Senior Short Term Planning Engineer, you'll lead a team responsible for turning strategy into execution, ensuring the mine plan is translated into safe, achievable and value-driven outcomes across the operation. Reporting to the Superintendent - Short Term Planning, you'll play a pivotal leadership role, driving performance, developing capability and providing technical direction across the short-term planning function.

From production drill and blast through to scheduling, cave planning and short-term projects, you'll work at the heart of the operation, collaborating with key stakeholders to optimise mine performance and deliver results.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Superintendent - Short Term Planning, you’ll:

• Lead and develop a team of mining engineers responsible for short-term planning activities across the operation
• Drive delivery of the Short Term Mine Plan, covering a planning horizon from shiftly execution through to three months
• Oversee critical planning functions including drill and blast design, scheduling, cave planning and short-term projects
• Partner with operational and technical teams to ensure alignment with budget and quarterly plan objectives
• Identify operational risks and opportunities within the planning horizon and implement practical solutions.

You're a technically capable mining engineer and an emerging leader who enjoys influencing outcomes, solving complex mining challenges and developing high-performing teams. deally, you’ll also have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
• Extensive underground mining experience across short-term planning, production engineering and drill and blast
• Experience in Sub Level Caving operations, or a strong understanding of cave mining methods
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing technical teams
• Experience using Deswik CAD, Deswik Scheduler and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
