Job summary

Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) is seeking a Microservices & AI Technical Lead to drive cloud-native, AI-enabled platforms as part of the enterprise transformation. The role leads engineering decisions and AI adoption across the service delivery lifecycle while ensuring capability transfer within delivery teams.

The successful candidate will shape architecture, governance and modern engineering practices, including SDLC, DevSecOps and CI/CD, in a large government context

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, implementing and governing cloud native, microservices and event driven architectures in complex environments.
• Proven AI engineering delivery including deployment and operationalisation of enterprise AI capabilities.
• Strong software/platform engineering capability with DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability and security by design.
• Proven ability to lead technology modernisation, influencing architecture decisions and delivering meaningful improvements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership across multidisciplinary teams and executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural authority for cloud native, microservices and AI platforms.
• Lead engineering and AI delivery practices including SDLC, CI/CD, observability and automated testing.
• Drive platform modernisation, containerisation and integration of enterprise systems.
• Foster knowledge transfer and governance to raise engineering maturity.
