Are you a driven Metallurgist ready to take the next step in your career? Join Intertek Minerals and play a key role in leading metallurgical testwork, mentoring a high‑performing team, and driving innovation across our Perth operations and global network.

About the Role

Reporting to the Metallurgy Manager, this position provides technical leadership and operational direction within the Metallurgical Laboratory. You’ll oversee testwork programmes, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our global Minerals division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical input, guidance and leadership across metallurgical projects.
  • Develop and scope laboratory testwork programmes, ensuring work meets client and operational requirements.
  • Maintain high OHSE standards and foster a strong safety culture.
  • Engage in business development and client discussions.
  • Mentor and develop graduate metallurgists and laboratory staff.
  • Drive best‑practice methodologies and contribute to ISO and research initiatives.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Metallurgist, including 2 years in a laboratory environment and 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong background in testwork design, data analysis and metallurgical modelling.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Suite and familiar with SAP, Pronto or LIMS.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and mentoring abilities.
  • Commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement.
