GV Health is seeking a Senior Mental Health Nurse to lead professional development across mental health nursing, coordinating mandatory training and post-graduate programs. You will work with the Mental Health Director of Nursing to evaluate and improve service models based on current research and best practice.

The role requires RN registration with post-graduate mental health qualifications, strong leadership, and experience in policy implementation within the Victorian health system.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
• Post-graduate qualifications in mental health nursing.
• Experience in policy and guideline development and implementation including relevant acts and standards.
• Well-developed leadership and people management skills.

About the role:

The Senior Mental Health Nurse will provide, in collaboration with the mental health senior management team, professional leadership, supervision and support for the mental health workforce and be responsible for the planning, coordination, resource management and reporting of activities relating to mental health nursing professional development programs including but not limited to the provision of mandatory training and nurse undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate programs. This position will be responsible for specific projects that advance the service goals and improve family and client centred practice. The Senior Mental Health Nurse works closely with the Mental Health Director of Nursing to ensure that existing service models are evaluated and developed in line with new research and contemporary evidence based clinical practice.

The successful candidate will:

• Have current registration with teh Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse wiht post-graduate qualifications in mental healht nursing.
• Have extensive knowledge and understanding of current issues related to mental health care and service delivery across all programs and age spans within the sector.
• Experience in policy and guideline development and implementation including the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022, Victoria, National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
• Well-developed leadership, communication, supervision and people management skills including experience in effectively developing, enhancing and sustaining key organisational and sector relationships
