The Trustee for the Byrne No. 2 Trust in Moranbah, QLD, is seeking a Senior Medical Officer – Rural Generalist for a permanent full-time or part-time position at Moranbah Hospital.

The role offers broad rural medicine within a regional service and provides access to modern facilities and supportive professional links with Mackay Hospital and Health Service. Applicants must hold AHPRA registration with current practicing certificate and Fellowship as Rural Generalist (or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Must hold AHPRA registration with current annual practicing certificate.
• Fellowship as Rural Generalist (FACRRM or FRACGP-RG or RACGP + FARGP with RANZCOG Advanced Procedural or equivalent).
• Appointment as Rural Generalist (Level 18–27) or Provisional Fellow (Level 13–14) with ACRRM or RACGP in advanced skills.
• Credentialling and Scope of Clinical Practice per MHHS policy; maintain CPD requirements.
• Declaration of any current, criminal, or significant previous disciplinary proceedings or restrictions on clinical practice.

Education

AHPRA registration with current annual practising certificate

Location: Moranbah Hospital Division of Public Health & Rural Services, Mackay Hospital and Health Service The team at Moranbah Hospital is seeking applications for Senior Medical Officer – Rural Generalists to join their team on a Permanent Full Time / Part-time basis. Temporary considered.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina. Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements

• Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
• Must hold and maintain Fellowship as a Rural Generalist (FACRRM or FRACGP-RG or RACGP + FARGP with RANZCOG Assoc Advanced Procedural or equivalent.
• Appointment as a Rural Generalist (Level 18 – Level 27) or Provisional Fellow (Level 13 – Level 14) will require qualifications awarded by either ACRRM or RACGP in one or more advanced skill disciplines.
• The successful applicant must achieve and maintain Credentialling and Scope of Clinical Practice in accordance with MHHS policy to perform clinical requirements of the role, this includes ongoing CPD requirements of an enrolled college.
