Aspect Personnel is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary building services design team delivering complex projects in Melbourne. You will lead mechanical design from feasibility through construction, coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure innovative, sustainable outcomes.

The role requires strong technical background in building services, with experience guiding junior engineers, mentoring teams, and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in mechanical building services engineering within a consulting environment.
• Proven ability to lead mechanical design across complex building projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical plant, and building services coordination.
• Experience managing project packages, resources, and deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging clients and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Australian standards and building codes.
• Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical building services design from feasibility through to construction and project completion.
• Deliver HVAC and mechanical system designs including calculations, specifications, and coordinated documentation.
• Manage selected projects or design packages to meet programme, budget, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines, architects, and project stakeholders to ensure integrated design outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Review engineering documentation and ensure designs meet relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and commercial aspects of project delivery.
• Project exposures: Residential (Apartments, mixed use), Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Transport, Industrial & Government.
