Job summary

Wood Recruitment is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager for a Perth-based operation specialising in modular construction, timber and light-steel frames, trusses and flooring systems. You will own day-to-day factory performance, lead the production team and drive Lean improvements, safety, quality and cost management.

The role offers senior leadership exposure and potential for future Group Operations responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years running a factory or production operation.
• Experience in timber framing, modular or offsite construction.
• Proven Lean manufacturing or process-improvement track record.
• Experience leading 20+ staff.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day factory performance.
• Lead production supervisors, leading hands and the wider manufacturing workforce.
• Deliver production schedules across multiple product streams.
• Manage labour planning, capacity, productivity and shift requirements.
• Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and maintain standard work, visual management and 5S.
• Strengthen quality assurance systems, hold points and first-pass quality.
• Monitor rework, defects, labour hours, material waste and overtime.
• Develop supervisors and build capability across the production team.
• Manage performance and accountability across a diverse workforce.
• Take ownership of factory WHS, incident management and hazard reporting.
• Report weekly production, quality, safety, labour and cost KPIs.
• Identify production constraints and implement improvement plans.
