Job summary

Approach Consulting Pty in Canberra seeks a Senior Manager to lead the Tax & Business Advisory team, directing five professionals across onshore and offshore resources and a diverse client base.

You will mentor, review outcomes, and drive quality and efficiency while serving as a senior client contact with proactive, commercially minded guidance. The role offers flexible arrangements and a clear pathway to director-level opportunities.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with a tax focus.
• 7+ years' experience in tax or business advisory.
• Strong knowledge of individual tax with exposure to companies, trusts, partnerships, CGT and Division 7A.
• Proven people leadership including performance management and capability development.
• Experience working with offshore resources or interest in developing this capability.
• Excellent communication and client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of five, including offshore team members, setting clear expectations for quality and review standards.
• Manage a portfolio spanning individual clients and commercial businesses, from complex personal tax matters to restructures and advisory engagements.
• Oversee the offshore delivery model, ensuring clear briefing, effective review processes and consistent output.
• Act as a senior point of contact for clients, providing proactive, commercially minded advice.
• Manage workflow, deadlines and quality across the team, including peak-period planning.
• Work closely with the partners on pricing, business development and client growth.

Senior Manager, Tax & Business Advisory
A well-regarded Canberra firm is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead a Tax & Business Advisory team. This is a genuine leadership position, with responsibility for a team of five across onshore and offshore resources and a diverse client portfolio.

The role

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of five, including offshore team members, setting clear expectations for quality and review standards

About you
