Senior Manager PMO & Continuous Improvement

The Role
The Senior Manager of PMO & Continuous Improvement is responsible for continuous improvement, project coaching, and governance, all aligned with delivering initiatives that achieve strategic goals. The Senior Manager PMO and CI works closely with Senior Leaders and Executives to drive change, bringing purpose to life and enabling the business to achieve its goals. This role requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to navigate and respond to evolving business needs and priorities whilst ensuring that key outcomes are delivered for the bank.

In the role you will

  • Develop a robust project management framework with quarterly and annual review cycles to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Guide process progression through the framework, ensuring each phase is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor portfolio health and provide status reports to leadership, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and Continuous Improvement Team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Mentor and coach project managers and business analysts, providing ongoing support and guidance to help them achieve their professional goals.
  • Implement standardized project management and business analysis practices to promote consistency and best practices across the organization.
  • Oversee project methodology, resource management, and risk management to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Ensure effective governance and delivery of projects by establishing governance structures and conducting regular reviews.
  • Provide enterprise updates on project portfolio performance and resource management, communicating regularly with stakeholders.
  • Engage with senior leaders to gather requirements and develop business cases, demonstrating how new projects align with strategic goals and deliver value.

Qualifications

About you
You will be a strategic thinker and an outstanding communicator with extensive experience in project management and business optimisation. You excel in aligning projects with organisational strategy, delivering results, and leading and mentoring your team to success. You are adaptable and like thinking outside of the box.

  • Minimum of five years' experience in Project Management (essential) with certification (desirable).
  • Proven track record in leading high-performing teams.
  • Naturally curious and eager to learn, explore new ideas, and look beyond the present circumstances.
  • Strong strategic alignment with a results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communicator with strong coaching, mentoring, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly developed skills in large-scale stakeholder management.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as JIRA, DevOps, Prince2, and Agile.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
