Qualifications

• There are no mandatory qualifications for this position; a degree in psychology, social work or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
• Possession of postgraduate qualifications (or progress) in a relevant area will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight, contemporary leadership and service planning to promote a culture of continuous improvement across QCS program delivery locations.
• Lead, motivate and encourage OIU and program delivery staff in performance of their duties.
• Appraise staff performance and provide feedback regularly per agency processes.
• Maintain high professional knowledge in evidence-based offender programs and frameworks for sex, violent, and general offending.
• Develop innovative programs and evidence-based solutions for offender needs including priority groups.
• Provide high level advice to the Agency on offender program delivery.
• Manage provision of practice support and training to custodial and Community Corrections staff.
• Participate in coaching, training and professional development.
• Ensure timely advice and reports to courts and other agencies; participate in court proceedings as required.
• Prepare strategic ministerial and executive correspondence with accuracy and timelines.
