Job summary

NSW Trustee and Guardian is seeking a Senior Manager, Investment Implementation and Operations to lead the delivery and oversight of investment operations, common funds and governance frameworks. You will drive strategic initiatives, manage outsourced relationships and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

The role requires extensive funds management experience, strong leadership and stakeholder engagement across government and industry. A CA or CPA qualification is essential.

  • Extensive experience leading investment operations, funds management and financial governance in a complex environment.
  • Strong leadership capability with proven ability to lead teams, drive change and build stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships, outsourced service providers and contract performance to deliver value-for-money outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, able to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, prioritisation and delivering high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement across government, industry and executive networks.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Extensive experience in managing, operating and accounting of large investment portfolios, including cash, hedging, funds and passive strategies.
  • At least 10 years' experience within funds management operations

At NSW Trustee and Guardian our purpose is to support the rights, welfare, and interests of the people of NSW. The agency supports the NSW Trustee, the Public Guardian and the Commissioner of Dormant Funds to carry out their statutory functions. We do this by providing a range of customer-centred services, including Will-making, trustee, financial management and guardianship services, including some for the state’s most vulnerable people.

We support over 50,000 customers annually and manage almost seven billion dollars in customer assets. A NSW government agency within the Communities and Justice Portfolio, our services help support and protect people at critical moments in their lives.

About the team

Financial Performance and Investments comprises teams supporting the financial and investment needs of our clients as well as maintaining, enhancing, and protecting their assets. These services cover the management of properties, shares, investments, and other personal assets; the processing of customer and third-party payments and receipts; the handling of a range of taxation matters; developing financial plans and budgets to support our customers; and providing corporate frameworks, tools and services for Procurement, Project Management Governance, and Budgeting and Reporting to the organisation.

About the role

The Senior Manager, Investment Implementation and Operations leads the delivery and oversight of NSW Trustee and Guardian's investment operations, common funds and investment governance frameworks. The role is responsible for driving strategic investment initiatives, managing key service provider relationships, and ensuring investment services deliver strong outcomes for customers while meeting regulatory and governance requirements.

About you

  • Extensive experience leading investment operations, funds management and financial governance in a complex environment.
  • Strong leadership capability, with a proven ability to lead teams, drive change and build collaborative stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships, outsourced service providers and contract performance to deliver value-for-money outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across government, industry and executive-level networks.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Extensive experience in the management, operation and accounting of large investment portfolios, including cash, cash deposits, hedging, managed investment funds and passive investment management strategies.
  • At least 10 years' experience within funds management operations
