Job summary

Vanguard Australia is seeking a Senior Manager, Cloud Security Engineering to shape the future of customer identity services, driving strategy, architecture, engineering excellence, and operational resilience across our security and identity platforms.

You will lead a team of managers and multidisciplinary engineers, collaborating with business, technology, risk, and privacy stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, customer-centric solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related technology, cyber security, or identity and access management experience.
• Experience leading CIAM strategy, architecture, engineering, implementation, and production operations for large-scale customer-facing digital services.
• Strong knowledge of customer authentication, authorisation, identity proofing, federation, identity lifecycle management, privacy, fraud risk, and modern identity standards and protocols.
• Proven ability to develop leaders, shape high-performing organisations, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and translate business outcomes into secure and resilient identity capabilities.
• Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Manager, Cloud Security Engineering you will shape the future of customer identity services by driving strategy, architecture, engineering excellence, and operational resilience across our security and identity platforms. You will lead a team of leaders and technical specialists while partnering closely with business, technology, risk, privacy, and global stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and customer-centric solutions.

Role Overview:

Leading and developing managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for CIAM services and operations.

Defining and executing the security technology roadmap focused on customer identity capabilities.

Overseeing the design, implementation, integration, and operation of authentication, authorisation, and identity lifecycle solutions.

Ensuring the secure, reliable, and resilient operation of production identity services.

Establishing security standards, architecture patterns, and control requirements to protect customer identities and data

Establishes local Vanguard Australia security architecture, security standards, control requirements, and assurance practices to protect customer identities and data. Oversees authentication and authorisation patterns, federation, token and session management, privileged administration, audit logging, privacy controls, and risk-based access decisions.

Partnering with local and global stakeholders to shape enterprise identity and security strategy.

Driving strategic technology initiatives, platform modernisation, and continuous improvement across identity services.

Key Responsibilities/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will bring:

10+ years of related technology, cyber security, or identity and access management experience, including significant leadership experience managing managers and multidisciplinary technical teams.

Demonstrated experience leading CIAM strategy, architecture, engineering, implementation, and production operations for large-scale customer-facing digital services.

Strong knowledge of customer authentication, authorisation, identity proofing, federation, identity lifecycle management, privacy, fraud risk, and modern identity standards and protocols.

Proven ability to develop leaders, shape high-performing organisations, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and translate business outcomes into secure and resilient identity capabilities.

Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
