Job description

Senior Manager, Advisory - Regulatory Reporting Profusion Group

Location: Sydney | Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Opportunity

Our client is a global financial services organisation with a strong reputation for stability and long-term performance across multiple markets. Their regulatory reporting function plays a critical role in ensuring the business meets its prudential obligations, working closely with senior stakeholders across finance, risk and treasury. This is a newly created, specialist role sitting within a small, highly technical team of capital and liquidity reporting professionals, itself part of a broader regulatory reporting function of around fifteen people. You'll have one direct report and genuine scope to shape how the role and its remit evolve. What Role Will You Play? This is an advisory-focused position for someone who lives and breathes accounting standards and regulatory interpretation. You will act as a subject matter expert on capital and liquidity regulatory reporting, providing deep accounting policy interpretation to the business — not just applying existing rules, but forming independent, well-reasoned views in genuinely uncertain or contested areas.

Key aspects of the role include:
  • Interpreting complex capital and liquidity regulatory reporting requirements and translating them into clear, practical guidance for stakeholders
  • Conducting deep-dive analysis of accounting standards and their application to regulatory reporting obligations
  • Supporting compliance through forward-looking analysis and detailed technical reviews
  • Engaging with senior leaders, and where required, external regulators, to provide clarity on reporting positions
  • Managing and developing one direct report

This role sits outside of governance (which is covered by a dedicated specialist), and does not require APS 310 experience — the focus here is squarely on technical capital and liquidity reporting and accounting policy depth.

What You Offer
  • 12+ years' experience in financial services or investment banking, following a relevant accounting qualification
  • A degree in business or commerce with a professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA)
  • Strong, demonstrated expertise in interpreting regulatory reporting requirements and accounting standards, with sound professional judgement
  • Proven capability in capital and liquidity regulatory reporting specifically
  • Exposure to Economic and Financial Statistics (EFS) reporting is highly valued and will set candidates apart
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical requirements simply and confidently to senior stakeholders
