Job summary

RMIT University is seeking a Manager, Academic Governance Services to lead the governance of VE, associate degrees and non-award offerings. You will shape governance processes, provide strategic advice and coordinate across teams to ensure quality and compliance across domestic and international contexts.

As a senior leader in Quality and Compliance, you will drive governance readiness, support audits, enable program approvals and oversee workflows while engaging stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• Significant experience in academic governance, ideally within vocational education and/or higher education.
• Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes.
• Demonstrated experience developing and improving governance processes, policies and workflows.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and prepare high-quality reports and governance documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments and manage governance risks.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, interpret data and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the review, development and implementation of academic governance processes and workflows across CoVE.
• Provide expert advice on governance pathways, compliance requirements and program lifecycle activities, including approvals, amendments, transitions and discontinuations.
• Ensure new and updated offerings comply with internal policies, external regulations and quality standards.
• Assess governance readiness, authorise progression through governance processes and support sound decision-making.
• Oversee governance workflows, reporting and risk management to support effective and compliant program governance.
• Build strong collaborative relationships and provide trusted guidance to stakeholders across CoVE and the broader University.
• Lead and support the Academic Governance team (currently two staff).
