Job summary

An Australian-owned property development company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for its in-house legal team. The successful candidate will provide legal advice on property transactions, draft and negotiate contracts, and manage legal disputes. Ideal applicants will have 5 to 8 years of post-admission experience in property law, with strong drafting and negotiation skills. The role offers a collaborative environment working closely with leadership and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of post-admission experience in property law, ideally including construction law.
  • Experience in private practice or in-house settings.

  • Provide legal advice on property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, finance, construction, and development projects.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of property and commercial contracts.
  • Conduct due diligence on property transactions to identify legal risks and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations affecting property and construction industries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and manage risk.
  • Assist with the management and resolution of legal disputes and litigation related to property and construction matters.
