Amber Electric is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to partner across Product, Operations, Marketing and Business Development. Based largely in Melbourne, the role focuses on global SaaS licensing, data privacy and IP, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, and guiding regulatory compliance as the business scales.

You will report to the Head of Legal and drive end-to-end legal execution, supporting Tech rollout and cross-border licensing while delivering practical, risk-weighted advice to

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years PQE in commercial law with SaaS or regulated sectors.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts.
• Experience with data privacy, IP, and cross-border licensing.
• Strong regulatory knowledge and quick adoption of new frameworks.
• Ability to translate legal jargon into practical business advice.

Aufgaben

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including SaaS licensing.
• Own IP protection frameworks, data/privacy management, licensing, and cross-border entities.
• Provide business-focused legal advice on market-entry proposals and product features.
• Interpret energy market rules and operationalise compliance with ACL and data security standards.
• Brief and manage external counsel for specialist matters and cost control.
