Job summary
LOD (Lawyers on Demand) is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house team for construction disputes and major projects. This 6 to 12 month assignment involves collaborating with legal, commercial and project stakeholders on significant matters related to claims, disputes and contentious issues on major projects.
You will support the business by managing risk, resolving disputes and delivering commercially pragmatic outcomes, while working with a highly regarded legal team and leading
Qualifications
- Admitted lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' PQE.
- Strong back-end construction and projects experience, including claims and contentious matters.
- Experience advising on major construction, infrastructure, energy, resources or engineering projects.
- Front-end construction experience to complement disputes background preferred.
- Confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels within the business.
Responsibilities
- advise on complex construction and project-related claims, disputes and contentious matters;
- support the management and resolution of contractor, subcontractor and project delivery disputes;
- assist with dispute avoidance strategies and early issue resolution across major projects;
- provide strategic legal advice on project risk, contractual entitlements and commercial outcomes;
- review and advise on project documentation, contract administration issues and dispute related correspondence; and
- build strong relationships with stakeholders.
