Job summary

Maurice Blackburn Lawyers is seeking a Senior Legal Assistant/Legal Assistant to join the Road and Work Team on a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract. The role is based in our Reservoir office and will support lawyers and staff in managing a busy caseload across Work Injuries.

You will provide administrative and legal support, handle client files from open to close, draft correspondence, prepare court documents, manage diaries, and assist with billing while delivering high-quality client

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant.
• Preferably experience in Personal Injury practice area.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external clients.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming client enquiries and assist or transfer calls where appropriate.
• Provide accurate updates and information to clients within a timely manner and manage expectations.
• Manage the administration of all client files from open to close.
• Produce client correspondence and prepare court documents as requested.
• Arrange and manage diaries, appointments and meetings.
• Action all incoming mail.
• Prepare bills for clients.
• Any other generalist administrative tasks as requested.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Legal Assistant/Legal Assistant to join our Road and Work Team on a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract. Based in our Reservoir office, this role will suit candidates looking to make their mark within the Firm whilst helping everyday Australians. You will work side-by-side with our lawyers and legal support staff to provide quality administrative and legal support managing a rewarding and busy caseload of client files across the Work Injuries Team.
